Perth's Best Restaurants

From delightful degustations to intimate wine bars. here's a list of the must-visits for the discerning Perth dinner.

Restaurant Amusé

A visit to Restaurant Amusé is guaranteed to impress. Turning up to Chef Hadleigh Troy’s East Perth restaurant feels like arriving at someone’s house – probably because it did in fact double as home for he and his wife for some time! Once you enter, the comfortable and cosy vibe remains, but you will be whisked away to a corner where you can enjoy plate after plate after plate of exceptional, modern Australian cuisine.

Degustation is the go here, and the menu changes depending on what is in season and which ingredients Hadleigh is inspired by. The kitchen will happily cater for allergies; just let them know your requirements beforehand.

Lalla Rookh

In the heart of the Perth CBD lies Lalla Rookh. As you wander down St George’s Terrace, keep an eye out for a set of stairs that lead you to this fabulous restaurant and bar. It’s easy to please both adventurous foodies and fussy eaters at this joint – with inspired flavor combinations next to dressed up pub fare on the menu.

Bookings are encouraged as the restaurant packs out, particularly on the weekends. But if you need to wait for a table, the bar area is vast and well stocked. After dinner, exit through their wine shop and grab a bottle to take with you.

For those that want to visit No4 without committing to an entire night, you’re welcome to call into the bar side of the establishment, Nextdoor at No4, to enjoy a grazing menu alongside a glass of fine wine. Breakfast is also served in the bar from 7am.

Inspired by Parisian bistros, the decor is bright and airy, and the space well suited to groups as well as intimate dining for two, or indeed for one.

Nobu

Favoured amongst Perth locals as the ultimate anniversary or date night destination, Nobu never fails to deliver. Despite there being over 30 Nobu restaurants throughout the world, the attention to detail in the kitchen and front of house is superb at each of the venues, Perth being no exception.

If pressed for time, get a seat at the bar where you can enjoy cocktails and appetizers before seeing a show nearby.

Must Winebar

As the name suggests, this Highgate venue is a wine bar, with an extensive list of well-chosen drops. But inside you’ll also find a popular bistro, where things really get interesting. While the menu changes seasonally, you can always expect to find their famous, twice baked soufflé on the list, as well as their mouth-watering angel hair pasta with crab.

Must Winebar offers French influenced, contemporary cuisine that is always cooked to perfection.

Print Hall

Print Hall is found in the beautifully restored Newspaper House in the Perth CBD, where the building alone is enough to warrant a visit. The vast space houses a bakery downstairs, an open bar area with oyster shucking nook and impressive cheese cabinet, a rooftop bar, plus a couple of dining options.

Everything is done well here, but for exceptional dinnertime fare then book into the main Print Hall dining room. Expect modern, European cuisine that showcases fresh, Western Australian produce.
