A lounge like no other
Crystal Club was recently awarded ‘Best Hotel Club Lounge of the Year’ at the 2018 Qantas Business Travel Awards and the TAA awards (VIC).
We met with Eunice Yu, Crystal Club Manager to talk about delivering a guest experience that defies expectations and some of her favorite parts of the job.
Tell us a bit about yourself Eunice.
I have worked at Crown Towers Melbourne for 22 years and during this time I've had the pleasure of being a part of many incredible experiences.
I love meeting new people every day and over the years I have built many treasured relationships with my regular guests and this is a passion I pass onto my incredible team.
Are there any memorable guest experiences which stand out?
Over the years I have been a part of many memorable guest experiences but the relationships that I have built with my team and the milestones I have experience with them has been the most rewarding element of my role.
What makes the Crystal Club experience so unique?
I like to think of Crystal Club as a home away from home. We have a dedicated team who manage all aspects of our guest’s stay which is rather unusual in a large hotel. Typically a guest will visit the lounge several times a day (we offer breakfast, afternoon tea as well as pre-dinner drinks and canapés) which allows us to provide truly personalised service. In fact, most of our regular guests are more like family!
Are there any must try breakfast treats?
I think one of the tests of an excellent hotel has to be their breakfast. We offer a daily buffet with a wide selection of continental, hot and Asian options as well as a seasonal a la carte menu. A personal favourite is the Eggs Benedict – not to be missed!
And what about the cocktails…
We can shake up almost any cocktail you desire! However, I think our signature Espresso Martini goes down particularly well with our amazing canapés.
Describe the departure experience.
Departing a hotel can often be a hectic affair; we try to de-stress the experience. After settling the account over breakfast, the team will assist with luggage storage and organising any transport requirements.
