People always ask…
How much is our most expensive suite?
The best coffee…
Melburnians take their coffee very seriously. My favourite cafes are South of Johnston, Proud Mary and Code Black – best of all, they roast their own beans. Patricia in the CBD is perfect for a coffee on the run.
Your perfect Melbourne day…
For early risers, start with breakfast in Degraves Street or Block Place inside the Block Arcade Gallery for a true Melbourne vibe. If you prefer a sleep in, brunch at Grain Store on Flinders Lane is a personal favourite.
Time for lunch at one of my favourite Flinders Lane restaurants, Tonka, Chin Chin, Lucy Liu, Pastuso or Cumulus Inc., they all have a unique style. If I can fit in dessert, Om Nom serves crazy, inventive sweets.
Jump on the tram and head North Side for a shop on Smith Street, Gertrude Street and Brunswick Street. Make sure you make a pit stop at Naked for Satan (the rooftop bar has legendary tapas and some fantastic views over Melbourne).
Then it’s off to the theatre, my favourite shows currently are Aladdin and The Book of Mormon. If you’re still hungry, grab a quick pre-theatre bite at San Telmo, an Argentinian style bar and restaurant.
Favourite rainy day spot…
Lygon Street Carlton (Melbourne’s Little Italy) is perfect for a rainy day. I love DOC Espresso for a charcuterie board, and some of the city’s best pasta followed by a movie at Cinema Nova topped off with some wine and cheese at Milk the Cow.
