Perth’s Best Boutique Breweries
Pioneering the vibrant boutique brewing and distilling scene for over 30 years ago, Western Australia was the birthplace of the Matilda Bay Brewing Company, Australia’s first craft brewery.
Today the city’s craft beer scene is stronger than ever with unique boutique breweries popping up all over the state. We’ll drink to that!
Here are some of our favourites.
Located on the site of the former Old Brewery, the now much-loved microbrewery Riverside Brewhouse has an impressive history. With a wide range of brews from the light ‘Narrows Lager’ to the hoppy ‘Angus Pale Ale’ plus a rotation of seasonal beers, even those only visiting for the Swan River views will find it hard to resist a cold frosty one!

What does it take to become Fremantle’s busiest microbrewery? A fresh, timber-rich space in the heart of Fremantle is a great start. This independent brewery serves a killer range of craft beers including a tasting paddle for just $21 so you can try them all!
Monk Brewery also has an impressive range of ciders for those who prefer a sweet drop, with flavours like blackcurrant and basil or salted caramel.
